Update app permissions

New Checkout Buddy features sometimes need extra permissions from Shopify. Until you approve them, those features won’t work, but everything else keeps working.

Check your permissions

Go to Settings → Permissions.

• Your app permissions are up to date: Nothing to do.
• Your app permissions are out of date, some features may not work.: Click Update permissions. Shopify opens in a new tab and lists what the app is asking for. Approve it, and you’re returned to the app.

You may also see Additional permissions required on a customization card, or a banner in the branding editor. Both link to the same update.

If the update doesn’t work

You see an error, or nothing happens after clicking Update permissions.

Shopify only lets store staff with permission to manage apps approve app permissions. Try the following, in order:

1. Ask the store owner, or a staff member with app permissions, to click Update permissions.
2. Turn off ad blockers and privacy extensions, which can block the redirect to Shopify. Or try a private window or a different browser.
3. Reinstall the app. Your blocks are kept.
4. Email kyle@keylayapps.com. We can send a collaborator request to update the permissions for you, which takes about a minute. You can remove the collaborator access right afterwards.
